25 Sep Are you interested in becoming a CNA?
Harney District Hospital (HDH) is teaming up with Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) to offer a Nursing Assistant course at home in Harney County.
This 105-hour course includes a mix of online education and in-person clinical experience. The majority of clinical experience will take place at HDH in Burns. Students will only be required to visit the TVCC campus — which is located in Ontario — a limited number of times during the course.
This course is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). Those who successfully complete the Nursing Assistant course will be eligible to take the state’s competency exam. Those who pass the exam will receive a designation of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
To be eligible for the Nursing Assistant course, you must be at least 16 years old, be in good health, and be current on immunizations. Applicants must also pass a background check and drug-screen urinalysis.
In order to offer the course in January 2024, HDH and TVCC need a minimum of four interested students. If you are interested in participating, please contact HDH Chief Nursing Officer Elaine Wulff by Oct. 26. Elaine can be reached via phone at 541-573-8608 or email at ewulff@riptiderenovations.com.
Multiple funding options are available. Please contact Elaine to learn which option is right for you.
Don’t delay! Contact Elaine as soon as possible to take advantage of this limited opportunity!
